national dream graduation
we managed to pull it together in two weeks. we started late, we forgot a press table and the generator went out a few times but we got it done. over five-hundred immigrant students and allies gathered to demonstrate the urgency of passing the dream act.

dc has a massive month long art festival every summer. artomatic. its an incredible mix of galleries, live performances, and film screenings. some of it is pure garbage, and the artists stand awkwardly by their pieces and give you a card as you pass. they rented out an unfinished office building in south east and filled the entire thing with art. so with nine stories crammed with local artists...
United We Dream
so I haven’t been doing much for seiu itself. most of my time has been spent with a nation-wide organization of immigrant students called united we dream. despite a lack of structure and pretty bad communication the people are incredible and inspiring. below is a video of matias who i’ve been working with on the national dream graduation.

i have checked seven separate chinese takeout joints in dc, and not a single one carries scallion pancakes. they have crab rangoons, they have spring rolls, they have fried dumplings, but no savory fried dough and onion. i may have to wait for kong.
